With the support of the Department of Trade and Industry ( SMART Awards) and the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA), ACR has developed advanced microcontrollers for upper limb prostheses and a portable early diagnostic system for an imminent heart attack, based on pattern recognition technology.
